HORSE RIDING IN PORT DOUGLAS

All forms of horse riding are a feature of Port Douglas Horse Riding and you'll love our 20 horses. Learn to ride, learn to handle horses. We promise you a unique experience whether you are a new or experienced rider. We are pleased to offer tuition, all safety equipment and saddlery and fantastic, beautiful horses. We have flexible, affordable horse riding rates from a half hour to many hours to suit every different rider.

 

We are happy to discuss all our riding options when you are planning your excursion. We also offer led horses for our younger guests. The whole family can enjoy as much or as little horse riding time as they wish. We specialise in introducing horse riding to beginners. You'll learn how to care for your horse too. Your experience will start with grooming, fitting your horse's equipment correctly, and learning how to sit and basic control of your mount. You will also learn to walk and trot and steer around obstacles and/or over poles. Or, if you wish to simply go for a ride on a beautifully-natured and well-trained horse, you can do this too!


If you are a more experienced rider, you'll also be able to canter and jump or go out on one of our trails. Jumping and dressage lessons are also available for more advanced riders.

The best clothing to wear is long pants and enclosed shoes.  Lessons and rides are generally available in all weather conditions.

Port Douglas's largest and most successful horse riding centre.  A unique Australian Far North Queensland experience overlooking the Coral Sea, more than 100 acres of unspoilt rainforest wilderness, sugercane and equestrian facilities.  Located six minutes from Port Douglas, 40 minutes from Cairns on the Great Barrier Reef Marine Park.
